World War I personal scrapbook belonging to a nurse, Albert Eugenia McKeever, who served in France during the war from August 1917 - June 1919. Includes her Foreign Service Certificate with a printed signature of President Woodrow Wilson. The scrapbook is filled with over 250 original photographs & 16 postcards, 2 larger 8" X 10" sized photographs of ships, all depicting her journey from beginning to end. 39 pages total. Also with a 1918 printed note from King George V on Windsor Castle stationery welcoming United States soldiers to the country. The letters reads: "Soldiers of the United States, the people of the British Isles welcome you on your way to take your stand beside the Armies of many Nations now fighting in the Old World the great battle for human freedom. The Allies will gain new heart and spirit in your company. I wish that I could shake the hand of each one of you and bid you God speed on your mission. George R. I. April 1918." A fantastic collection. **** some pages have come out of the scrapbook & the front cover is detached.
