Description
Letter dated September 25, 1850, Nevada City. Nevada crossed out and Sacramento written in. Most likely letter was taken to Sacramento City as that was a common mailing location at this time. He acknowledges the last he wrote was in April. Since then he had started a prospecting excursion to Pleasant Valley. Later he went to (?) where he went to work to make enough for grub for 3 or 4 weeks until the rich "North should become workable." Talks about claims being forfeited. He later started for the great El Dorado Canon. The Gold Run and Kiota are no humbug. "You can believe with tolerable certainty what you hear of those."
