Description
Chinese, Qing dynasty. Modeled as a compressed archaic hu vase with rounded body rising to a waisted neck and slightly spreading rim, supported on a splayed foot. Showing the feature of anarchaic Chuji Zun vessel with heavy flanges on four sides. Carved in low relief with a central band of stylized taotie mask to the body. Having a band of archaic kuilong dragon decorated to the neck and shoulder, flanked by a pair of beast head handles. Carved from a greyish-white stone with dark brown inclusions. H. 10.8 cm (4 1/4 in.)
