Description
Mystery Artist (Thai, 19th Century). An original antique mixed media painting on silk. A figurative architectural landscape based on the original wall murals created in 1867 for the Wat Phumin temple, Nan (Thailand). Depicts a large group of male and female figures, with a female figure to left center smoking rolled tobacco (a natural bug repellent), temple architectural elements, trees, birds, and other forms. No apparent signature. Presented under glass in a metal frame.
Work Size: 32.5 x 24.5 in.
Dimensions: 37 X 29 X 1.5 in.
Condition: Good overall condition, having normal age related wear. Frame having normal to moderate wear at corners and edges. Estate fresh to the market.
