This lot includes: (1) The Story Of The First World War by Colonel Red Reeder. Was published by Duell, Sloan & Pearce in 1962. First Edition.This was was part of a series written by Colonel Red Reeder, a graduate of West Point and veteran of World War II who was awarded fourteen medals including two French decorations. Reeder wrote extensively for the Army covering a number of military topics, and also wrote numerous books for youth. For this particular series, Colonel Reeder traces the causes, major and minor players, course, climax, and outcome of World War I. The book is approx 6" x 1" x 8 1/2" and is in a good, used condition with shelf-wear. Was originally at a High School Library. (1) The Western Front 1914-1918 by John Terraine. Was published by J.B. Lippincott Company in 1965. John Terraine is perhaps the most distinguished historian of the First World War. In this collection of fascinating essays he addresses a number of particular topics - among them the genesis of the Western Front, Lloyd George and his influence on the war, Haig, Plumer, the battles of Guise, Passchendaele and Amiens - but his specially written Introduction and linking passages give the book a remarkable unity and enable it to be read as a coherent whole. The book is approx 5 1/2" x 1" x 8 1/4" and is in a good, vintage condition with shelf-wear on the dust-jacket
