JOHN ANDERSON (1923-1971)~ 1956 Mod Abstract Painting. This American Mid Century Modern abstract oil on canvas painting on wood stretchers is 39" long X 19 1/2" wide, signed on the bottom right corner "John Anderson 1956". This artist spent most of his career in Minnesota, studied at the Walker Art School and graduated in 1948. He later thought there under the direction of Mac LeSueur and worked as an exhibition assistant from 1954 to 1957. Between 1953 & 1968 he had 8 shows at the Kilbride-Bradley Gallery in Minneapolis. He also spent some time painting in Greenwich Village in NY and he exhibited as part of "The New Modern Art Movement" at the Guggenheim & Whitney Museums in the 1950's.

This artwork is in very good condition with NO tears and very minor wear, commensurate with its age.
