Description
TWO EARLY PROJECTORS AND A PHOTOGRAPHY DARKROOM LANTERN, FRENCH, GERMAN, AND AMERICAN, 1860s-1880s, comprising a Sciopticon Magic Lantern, circa 1869, by L.J. Marcy (American), French lens engraved "Darlot Paris B.F. & Co.," constructed with mahogany, steel and brass, interior fitted with two red and violet "special effect" color filters, fitted for electricity, height: 19 1/2" width: 5 3/8" depth: 21"; a German style parcel gilt blue painted steel with unmarked lens, mid 19th century, possibly Bavarian, with charming chimney, raised on gilt paw feet, height: 15" width: 4 1/2" depth: 10"; and a Carbutt's Multum in Parvo DRY PLATE LANTERN, pat. April 25th 1882, with ruby and milk glass, interior gilt and later fitted with wood and electricity, raised on gilt bronze feet, height: 19" width: 9" depth: 14".
