A VINTAGE BLANK CARTOGRAPHER'S GLOBE ON STAND, 16", PROBABLY AMERICAN, MID 20TH CENTURY, composed of twelve paper gores on a plaster sphere with partial hand outlining of most continents in watery black splotches and some in fine black ink zig zag lines, uneven black ink latitude lines, no longitude lines, some partial red ink unidentified explorer's track lines, equatorial demarcation, limited details, within a painted steel meridian circle with no engraved or molded markings and encircled by a flat wooden unmarked horizon ring, raised on four turned oak legs centering a fifth matching leg and joined by a shaped "X" form stretcher on compressed bun form feet. Some paper gores have a few small scratches, old hand applied black watercolor/ink geographical details and markings, incomplete red ink lines and marks, paper has darkened with age or was tinted a light brown, paper shows evidence of slight shrinkage, and surface build up throughout. Meridian circle has nicks, some scratches, does not turn easily. Horizon ring has edge wear in areas, small patches of paper covering loss or lifting, and surface buildup.
