Description
This wooden folding chair originates from the the original Yankee Stadium and is one of the oldest artifacts from the fabled "House That Ruth Built." Dating from approximately the 1920's, this chair was most likely used in the locker room, though it is also possible that such a chair could have been used for box seat use as well. Like many of the original Yankee Stadium pieces in the hobby today, this example was obtained during the 1973 renovation and bears the familiar New York Yankees 50th anniversary plaque affixed to the front of the back rest. Wooden folding chairs are much rarer than the larger outdoor seats from Yankee Stadium. This chair which is fully functional, displays moderate to heavy wear throughout, including chips and abrasions to what appears to be its original green paint. There does not appear to be evidence of repair or restoration. Some of the slats on the seat are loose. When fully opened, measures approx. 32" high x 16-1/4" wide x 20" deep. NOTE: Due to the size and weight of this item, additional shipping charges may apply.
