Victorian Elkington & Co. Silverplate Kettle-on-Stand
1882, Birmingham, in the Renaissance Revival taste, the squat, pear-shaped lobed body decorated with indices and chased alternating arabesque and rose-and-diamond panels, with a hinged, "S"-scroll mounted handle and "gooseneck" spout, on a domed stand decorated en suite and raised on four robust floral rocaille legs joined to a central burner.

Condition
**One shallow "fingerprint" dent on the body and a short dent on the lower edge of the burner, but otherwise in quite good condition. No wear to the silvering, no breaks or repairs. Marked on the underside of the kettle with the Elkington trademarks and date letter ("y") for 1882. A handsome and functional lot.
