Victorian Silverplate Hot Water Urn

second quarter 19th century, of serpentine-lobed urn form above a squared pedestal base, with robust acanthus-mounted handles, feet and addorsed scroll key, the domed lid with floriform finial lifting to reveal the original billet chamber and cap, the whole decorated with reeded floral and foliate banding.

**One handle is dented backwards a bit, but otherwise in overall good condition with the expected bumps and dings of age. Probably electroplated at some point to cover up some wear and bleeding, but this was skillfully done and there is no peeling or blistering. Some dents on the rim of the billet chamber. Brass billet present but probably not original. No maker's/manufacturer's marks.
