Description
Original antique 1836 Military Art - 1840 Military Art, by R. Cooke - Hand-Lithography [drawn on lithographic limestone], Thayer, Boston. Halls Quick Step sheet music. The matching size picture mat is included in this lot.
"Hall's Quick Step. As performed by the Boston Brigade Band", Composed and arranged by T. Bricher. Respectfully dedicated to Orderly John Hall by The Greys. Boston. Published by Geo. P. Reed, 17 Tremont Row. Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1840 by Oakes and Swan in the Clerk's office of the District court of Massachusetts. [Original first issue]
Two separate sheets [4 pages]: title page, two pages of sheet music, one blank 9.5/8" x 13" [ 24.4cm x 36cm], some wear a few edge creases, very good condition. The picture mat is not attached. The mat is 11.1/2" x 15.1/2", very good condition.
The image on the title page is a hand-lithography [drawn on lithographic limestone] signed on stone "R. Cooke del. and Thayer's Lithogy. Boston."
