Description
Milo Winter (1913-2002). 'Cape Dunes', 1939. Watercolor 9 1/2" x 12". Signed & dated, lower left. Matted & framed under glass. Winter was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago (1937), then studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills MI. Winter taught at RISD (1939-1950). A member of the Providence Art Club & Pennsylvania Academy, Winter exhibited widely, incuding at the Art Institute of Chicago & PAFA. Winter was a colorist who liked to place hot and cool colors juxta-positioned in landscapes & still life. His style painting style ramed from modern realism to expressionism.
