oil on canvas, signed and dated 1965, framed.
Frame dimensions 24 x 29 1/2 in.
Lim Wasim was born in Bandung, Indonesia and began his informal art studies with several of the local painters. In 1950, he left for China to study at the Central Art Institute of Beijing. In 1962, he was appointed a palace painter by Sukarno, the first president of Indonesia. After Sukarno's fall, Wasim continued painting and exhibiting internationally. In 1995 he was appointed a professor at the Liu Hiashu Art Institute in Shanghai.
