Chinese Ming Dynasty period, Blue & white Cranes over clouds double gourd vase. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a tall cylindrical neck, with a straight opening lip, raised on slightly short splayed foot base and slighty concave. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in clean white under glazed base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color, depicted of flying cranes through cumulus ruyi clouds and vapors, each part enclosed with ruyi taotie mask, geometric pattern on foot rim , and arrays of tropical leaves patterns on the collar. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
