Description
Two Chinese Blue and White Baluster Porcelain Urns, 20th c., one with foo dog handles over landscape decoration; the second a lidded example of crackleware, the cover with a relief foo dog over floral and bird decorated sides, Carved- H.- 12 1/2 in., Dia.- 5 in. Provenance: from the Estate of Dr. Peter Elwood Dorsett, New Orleans, Louisiana. (2 Pcs.)
Condition
The lidded urn has browning where there is craquelure. The lid has been broken and professionally repaired. The other vase has cracking at the bottom. Some firing flaws are throughout this example. There is an area of residue buildup present that would benefit from cleaning. Wear is consistent with age.
