Batik Sarong Signed "SLH Koedoengwuni" Peranakan, Indonesia, Early 20th C. Signed opened sarong in purple, blue, green and mustard with floral and butterfly motif made for the Southeast Asian Straits Chinese market. Handstamped with manual canting application of wax. The signature vaguely shows the old Dutch Indonesian spelling of Koedoengwuni. The fabric has a chintz like look from the "kuwukan" process using sea shells. Size: 3'6'' x 6'4'' (107 x 193 cm).
