Description
A Colima Dog West Mexico, c. 250 BC - 250 AD Hollow earthenware with a burnished red-brown slip. This dog has a very appealing face, full of character, its plump body standing on four short legs, the tail is also the spout of the vessel. In good condition, large repair to the proper right front leg and shoulder, crack from neck down the proper right back; extensive black manganese deposits especially on its proper left side. Provenance: Property from the M. Louise Beren Revocable Trust Exhibited: Wichita Art Museum, Wichita, KS Length: 14 ½ inches
