Late 1st millennium B.C. A terracotta mask in the form of a human face, modelled in the half-round with fleshy cheeks and chin, slender eyebrows meeting an aquiline nose, pursed lips and cropped hair, wearing a segmented diadem with circular dimple to each facet; accompanied by a custom-made display stand. 65 grams total, 87 mm high including stand (3 3/8 in.). Acquired 1979-1999. London collection of the late Mr S.M., thence by descent. [No Reserve]
