Very rare early Louis Vuitton steamer trunk dating from 1889-1899. Features rare rustic "Trianon" canvas in plain gray-beige, a finish used on the earliest Louis Vuitton trunks in production. Exterior with remnants of transport and customs labels, personal monogram and Louis Vuitton logo-stamped brass studs. Interior label with Serial No. 102692, listing only two storefront locations. Dimensions: H 27" x W 47.5" x D 26" Condition: Missing center latch above lock. Canvas with darkening and patina throughout, tears and a few losses; a few stress cracks to wood; dings and dents to metal; soiling and wear to interior. True antique patina and wear consistent with age and use.
