Oil on canvas laid on board, portrait of young woman in white dress and bonnet, in front of red curtain. Image 29” x 24”, Overall in period frame 37” x 32”. Provenance: the sitter in this portrait and accompanying lot 369 are identified as Ravine Forman (1791-1816) and Malvina Forman (1781-1873), daughters of General David Forman (1745-1797) of Monmouth, New Jersey. General Forman was an important figure in the Revolutionary War and a founding member of the Society of Cincinnati. https://njcincinnati.org/david-forman/.
