Oil on canvas laid on board, a young woman in white dress with lace ruff, in front of window. Image 30” x 24”, Overall in period gilt frame 38” x 33”. Provenance: the sitter in this portrait and accompanying lot 369A are identified as Ravine Forman (1791-1816) and Malvina Forman (1781-1873), daughters of General David Forman (1745-1797) of Monmouth, New Jersey. General Forman was an important figure in the Revolutionary War and a founding member of the Society of Cincinnati. https://njcincinnati.org/david-forman/.
