An attributed plaster relief by Frances Taft Grimes (Am. 1869-1963), believed to be a study for 'Girls Singing' a carved marble relief on display at the MET. Grimes, an accomplished 20th C. female artist worked with her teacher Herbert Adams and in the studio of Augustus St. Gaudens. 11”H x 16.75”W, overall 17”H x 22”W. Provenance - from a private Cornish, NH home.
Condition
repaired crack on lower left side, chip to bottom left, rubbing/abrasions on head and body.
