Description
An antique Italian carved plaster panel with light brown patina. The panel, created by Barbedienne, is one of the panels created by the sculptor Della Robbia in the ornament of the cantoria or cantorial platform located in the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence. This panel, like the other cantoria panels, features a choir of children and adults, and in each panel the choir uses only the same instrument, dulcimer, trumpets, vocals, etc. The large size of the bronze panel recreates the sculptural scale of the original model. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Antique European Bar Relief Panels and Plaques, Wall Art, Interior Design, Historical Wares, and Collectibles.
Dimensions: L 10 1/2 x W 9 3/4 in. All measurements are approximate.
