Condition
The pieces are in generally good condition; no major chips, cracks, or losses. All fifteen pieces show firing and glazing flaws, most likely to be original to artistic practice. When inspected under UV lights, none of them show a sign of restoration. Wear to all pieces’ footrims, consistent with their age and use. Seven of the pottery have crazing throughout; five show signs of minor crazing; crazing was not seen in the other three vessels.
The bowl, pictured in the second row, second to the right, has slight discoloration along the recessed areas. Along with it, there is a line of minute discoloration near the footrim, which is only visible under UV light.
Dust collected along the interior of the green lidded pot, captured far fight in the second row in lot listing, which can be easily understood given its age and use.
There is a 1 1/2 inches long accretion to the underside of the white lidded pot, the first to left in the first row. Along its lid, towards the extreme edge, there is an area of discoloration with some residue left, approx. 1 1/4 inches long. Near the handle of the lid, there is a network of discoloration.
The light brown cup, captured in the third row, first to the left, has one visible chip on its rim. There are some accretions along the interior. There is a small chip near the neck.
The cup, captured in the first row, third to the left, in the lot listing has a small network of accretions. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
