Description
Elder Freegift Wells (American (Shaker), 19th c). Hand made side chair from Wells' Watervliet workshop, ca. 1830. With his signature ladder back and woven seat. With adjustable tilter balls along the back feet, one missing.
An extremely similar example can be found at the Shaker Museum in Mount Lebanon: "Side Chair with Pewter Tilter Buttons, 1950.215.1."
