A rare Chinese Kesi weave unmade long pao Dragon robe, Qing Dynasty, circa 1850, woven with nine blue scaled dragons upon a silver thread woven ground, the dragons with five claws (except the one on the inside flap) the body exudes green flames, approximately 280cm x 108cm Very few robes were embroidered or woven with silver thread as silver was considered a more precious metal than gold in court costume production in the Qing court.
