Shoulder pot, enamel cloisonné, China, Qing dynasty (1644-1911), c. 1800, on the body a potpourri of Buddhist musical instruments: castanets, sheng mouth organ, type bo cymbals, large standing drum, small drum; auspicious regalia: Fan, picture scrolls, treasure bag of budai, tongbao coins, phoenix standard, jewelled canopy, umbrella of honour; and symbolically set characters for prosperity(fu) and long life(shou); turquoise background with vibrant cloud pattern, splendid decorative zone lined with lotus blossom wreath, meanders and jewelled garland border, possibly used as cachepot, some dells and notch as signs of usage due to everyday use as well as hand patina, typical two-character mark ''Da Ming''(great Ming dynasty), 16x12cm
