5 Chinese Qing Dynasty Silk Embroideries: a back square Rank Badge ground of laid silk threads without applique of bird or beast and framed in wood as a tray with 2 wood & metal handles; 2 hanging pockets, a purple fruit shaped bag with laid threads forming a Bat & 2 further fruit front and back, the accordion pleated opening with double cord & tassel closure; a triple pocket with 2 flaps embroidered with lucky objects, the edges with parallel stitches; together with 2 embroidered roundels now mounted with ribbon borders and silk backing, the smaller with Immortals and laid gold wrapped details, the larger with blue flowers and butterflies in Peking Knot embroidery, possibly unfinished. Diameter of larger round mat 14 1/2 inches (36.8 cm.). NOTE: The tray frame with the label of "The Butts Art & Gift Shop, Norwich, Connecticut possibly part of Miss Butts School for Girls circa 1910.
Condition
Age related wear to each with a few minor loose or missing stitches, both bags with light stains and wear along folds, stains to framed rank badge, not examined out of tray.
