Of thick, slightly concave fire-hardened buffalo hide, painted with a central bird enclosed in a spotted crescent, within an undulating border with spotted accents on the exterior edge.

Condition

Good historic condition with some wear and soiling commensurate with age. Hide is very stiff, including interior strap. Some cracking to the shield and surface abrasions/losses in the upper portion of the crescent, two cracks measure about 3in long each. Scattered additional abrasions throughout.
