Description
North Pacific, Hawaii, ca. mid-20th to early 21st century CE. Signed "KOA / Chris Allen" on base. A stunning, hand-turned wood bowl presenting thick walls that gently curve inwards to a circular rim above a shallow basin, all sitting upon a planar base. The silky-smooth surface boasts a gorgeous natural woodgrain in a hue of golden caramel with natural, chocolate brown striations that nicely complement its elegant form. Interestingly, in the Hawaiian language, the word koa means "fearless warrior." Size: 5.4" Diameter x 1.9" H (13.7 cm x 4.8 cm)
