The first Royal Oak Day-Date was launched in 1983 under the reference 25572. It displayed the day of the week and month of the year in two subsidiary dials, offering a perfect symmetry on the dial. This model is nicknamed the Royal Oak 'Owl' due to the placement of the calendar subsidiary dials that look like the eyes of an owl.
Two years later, the reference 25594 was added to the collection. Similar to the 25572, it offered a third complication: the moon phase indication at the bottom of the dial. It was produced till 2002.
