Description
MONTEGRAPPA "GEA" FOUNTAIN PEN.
Barrel in resin, engraved silver and yellow gold.
Limited edition 0331/2001.
Two-tone 18 Kts gold nib. 18 Kts gold.
No box.
Measures: 13,5 cm length, 14,8 mm. diameter.
The "Gea" fountain pen, inspired by the Renaissance maps of the 17th century, is a limited edition of 2001 pieces worldwide, and is the work of the prestigious Italian firm Montegrappa, founded in 1912 in Bassano del Grappa by the German engineer Heinrich Helms and the Venetian businessman Alessandro Marzoto, specialising in handcrafted luxury articles.
It is made of high quality resin, in blue with a marbleised finish. It is adorned with a shirt finished in 925 sterling silver and hand-turned with 24-carat yellow gold appliqués. The engraving, developed using jewellery techniques, reproduces a 16th-century map of the world, with the eastern and western hemispheres known at the time. The two-tone 18-karat gold nib is decorated with geometric motifs and a woman's face. It has a handmade ebonite feeder.
