painted in red and black on buff, the jar features the Migration Pattern, the bowl appears to show bird wing and tail design, both signed on the underside in paint.
Jar 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 in.; bowl 2 1/4 in.
Fannie was the daughter of the famous Hano of Nampeyo, considered the matriarch of Hopi pottery. Fannie became a prolific potter, working from 1920s until her death, winning awards and having her pots become an important element in private and museum collections of Southwestern pottery.
