2 Japanese Antique Monks' Robe Kesa, probably dating to the 19th century, are constructed from brocade silk squares. Worn as an outer robe, kesa are stoles constructed by hand sewing richly decorated patches. One of the kesa is created from patches featuring white and red peonies. The other kesa is constructed of gold and beige silk fabric with stylized lotus ornaments. 4 contrasting patches decorated with floral motifs add color to the neutral background.
