Handwritten letter signed by Máximo Santos, dated "on board the Matteo Bruzzo, Isla de Flores" on 12 February 1887 and addressed to the Italian Minister in Montevideo, Duke of Lucigniano, in which Santos informs the "Señor Duque" that he has been prevented from disembarking in Montevideo, which he defines as "an act of violence" and an "outrage", and that "under no circumstances do I want to go to Buenos Aires", where Santos would die a little over a year later, banished from Uruguay by President Máximo Tajes. 1 folio.
