Description
Inuit green stone dancing walrus, carved in the style of Aqjangajuk Shaa, (Inuit, Cape Dorset 1937-2019), the playful pose depicting the walrus with three flippers in the air, having long antler tusks and no apparent signature, together with a book by Derek Norton and Nigel Reading, "Cape Dorset Sculpture" which depicts a similar piece on page 92. Provenance: From the Private Collection of Greg & Michael Boulton, Atlanta, Georgia. Approx. h. 15", w. 11", d. 8.5".
Condition
Overall good. There appears to be a repair to one of the toes on the top most flipper. No other issues noted.
