Emmett Conniffe (1895-1954 American) Portfolio of WWI Etchings of France, c.1917-19, printed 1924. Signed and titled in pencil along lower edge. Includes 24pc etchings picturing post-WWI scenes of France and Luxemburg from Conniffe who was a member of the US 42nd Infantry, Rainbow Division. Etchings depict towns and countryside views of France with destruction from war. The images were used in the publication of George E. Leach's 1962 'War Diary'. Sheets are loose and each measure approx. 11x13'' with impressions that range from 3.5x6'' to 5.5x6.5''. Some light even toning throughout.
