Description

Joseph James Akston (American, 1898-1983). An estate collection with two (2) Mid Century Modern art pottery servers. Includes: one (1) oblong form serving platter, with central figural Comedy and Tragedy masks, and having artist signature and date to lower right AKSTON 1968, with felt backing to underside (measures .5" x 16.5" x 12"); and one (1) rounded form serving plate or dish, with central figural profile portrait, and having artist signature and date to lower right AKSTON 1968, and impressed to underside SF (measures 1.25" x 12" x 11"). Acquired from the artist's estate.

Condition: Good overall, condition, having normal age related surface wear, platter having prior restoration to central crack or break. Estate fresh to the market.
