Description
Ancient Near East, Holyland, Late Bronze Age, ca. 1500 to 1200 BCE. A fine pottery kyathos presenting a wide hip, a sloped shoulder, and a flared rim, all sitting upon a narrow foot and enveloped in liberal remains of black-painted decoration atop a pale orange ground. A dramatic, arched handle rises from the hip, tapering in thickness before it ends at the rim, while the shoulder boasts a horizontal band of zigzag patterns. Size: 5.5" Diameter x 7.1" H (14 cm x 18 cm)
