Sold from the Living Estate of Carmelo and Jole Leggio. Well know antique dealers for the last 50 years. 1883 - 1962. Seascape oil on panel painting depicting a scene of New York Harbor with steamboat. Signed lower right corner and mounted in carved ornate gold gilt and silver wood frame. Guy Carleton Wiggins was born in New York and had a very long career as landscape painter. His artworks can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., the Reading Museum, Pennsylvania, the Art Institute of Chicago and many others. Recently added to the Guy Carleton Wiggins catalogue. Circa 1945. Catalogue number 1304. www.guycwiggins.com. Painting measures 17" x 20 1/2".
