Description

Quarter plate daguerreotype. The mother is beautiful and stylish. She wears a blue bonnet with flowers and a shawl to match. The daughter at left wears a red floral dress and a coral necklace. The daughter at right has lovely bottleneck curls and holds a very interesting object. Is it a purse? A musical instrument? Split case.

The consignor, Alex Novak, offered to split the hammer with the Daguerreian Society. This is a generous donation and greatly appreciated.
