Cyrus the Great was a 6th-century BC ruler known for establishing the First Persian Empire. His legacy was written about by numerous sources including Xenophon and the Old Testament Bible. Xenophons account of the life of Cyrus was written as a fictional biography titled Cyropedia, written in the 4th-century BC to describe what the perfect ruler should be as well as portraying the way that the general public blindly follows its leader. This book is the earliest known accounts of the Achaemenid Empire and portions of the Persian Emprie in Iran.
This 1775 French edition was published in Paris in two volumes, translated by Claude Ferriere.
