Frederic Remington was an widely celebrated painter, illustrator, and sculptor who specialized in depictions of the "Old American West". His work often depicts late nineteenth century archetypes such as cowboys, Native Americans, and U.S. Calvary soldiers, and he created iconic works that have become the standard by which all other cowboy artists are compared.
