Palmer Chrisman€â„¢s paintings portray the beauty of the Texas Hill Country and his subjects often included fields of bluebonnets and rolling hills, the changing leaves of fall and the foliage reflected in the water of the Guadalupe River. Chrisman had established himself as a successful doctor when he traded medical services for art lessons with Porfirio Salinas, who became a major influence on Chrisman's style. President Lyndon B. Johnson once ordered thirty of Chrisman€â„¢s paintings to be given as Christmas gifts from the White House, and his art can be found in both private and public collections around the country.
