George Twelves Hewes was an iconic 18th-century American militiamen best-known for his involvement in the Boston Tea Party and Boston Massacre. After fighting in the Revolutionary War, he wrote a memoir regarding his experiences in with the Boston Tea Party noting that the joined in the dumping of tea into the Boston Harbor as well confronting the captain of the ship he boarded to commandeer the tea. This 1835 edition of Hewes Memoir was collected and edited by B.B. Thatcher.
