Description
Very fine ES (Enoch Spinks) Craven salt glaze jug ca. 1850. Son of the Reverend John Craven, also a potter. A mechanic as well as a potter, Enoch fought in the Civil War and is known for distinctive cogglewheel designs on pots and jugs. He married Susannah Hayes and probably taught her brothers and uncles the potting trade. Stands 14.5H x 8W. Overall good condition; a stable very tight hairline vertically rises from the base on the front side below the base.
Condition
all pottery is in good estate condition, the picture will show any flaws and if we see something that needs to be noted we will do so in the listing.
