Description
Signed catawba valley pottery, JG for John Goodman, stamped 2 gallon jar. 12"H x 8"W. John Goodman married the daughter Barbara of Daniel Seagle. After Seagle's death in 1867, Goodman and his brother-in-law, James Franklin Seagle, continued to operate the shop into the 1890's. The glaze on this Goodman pot is phenomenal, bright, and drippy. Overall good condition. There are some chips/flakes and wear on the jar lip and on one handle; there is post firing hairline that begins on the base and crawls up toward a handle (please see picture 3).
Condition
all pottery is in good estate condition, the picture will show any flaws and if we see something that needs to be noted we will do so in the listing.
