Note

Café Scene, Paris was probably completed between 1950-1953, when Sefarbi was studying at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris.

Largely good original condition. Relatively heavy, shiny varnish. Mild indent along top extreme edge with some associated loss and slight undulation to bottom right corner. Some scattered raised ridges throughout canvas - most notably a 1 1/4 inch half-moon to top, center in hair and a vertical 3 ¼ inch to center midline. Small bump to top right hand corner, unobtrusive. Inscribed verso, 'To Jane Adriance, with love, Ruth Sefarbi 9/5/10'.
