Description
An 18th century George III sterling coffee urn, hallmarked London 1783 (maker's marks rubbed), the lidded urn-shaped body engraved with neoclassical motifs of swags of honeysuckles surrounding a monogrammed cartouche, sided by reeded kylix handles with acanthus leaf mounts & fronted by a reeded spigot, raised upon a squared base atop four ball shaped feet, the underside & lid with stamped hallmarks. Height, 14.5”. Weight 1,248 grams (40 troy ounces).
